This pack makes up and downs with my two year old much easier than the back carry packs. She prefers being on the front anyways!
I love how light weight this is and it can pack up with me wherever I go- and it matches everything. Thanks for making our outdoor adventures easier!
Best item I have bought literally use it everywhere hiking, shopping, hanging out with friends it’s helpful with my little one. She is way too big for baby carriers now and this was the best option hands down.
Too expensive for something so basic. It’s not cheap but it’s over priced for how basic it is. I don’t suggest the item to anyone. It’s fun but not practical for its price.
Took this on vacation and was able to carry the big toddler through the airport easily without extra gear and made our connecting flight. It was also great for hiking and walking. Did not need a stroller!
Put my kiddo in this for 0.6 miles and he had a lot of lines on his bottom. I can’t see how that could have been comfortable. Otherwise I love it so I’m going to try to find a better fit!
Straps that go near the legs need to be covered with a material that won’t rub on the kids thighs. My kid got to friction cuts after less than 30 min use.
Hooks into your pack which is fine but provides no support and feels like your kid is falling out. Feels awkward on your back…. Maybe it’s for bigger kids. Mine is 24 pounds…
Hi Melody! Thank you for letting us know! I'll send you a troubleshoot email to help increase comfort and feel! It is meant for 12 months and older; but 24 pounds doesn't sound too small for the Trail Magik! It sounds like a perfect weight! Look out for an email! Hope it helps!
This carrier is exactly what I was looking for. I have 3 kids, my daughters are 2 (35 lbs) and 4 (45 lbs). Great hikers, but some trails that are a little on the steep side, I’d rather have them strapped to me. Also, on longer hikes, 10+ miles, it’s a game changer. I’ve rucked a ton over the past 14 years in the military, and this setup with an osprey poco is hard to beat. The balancing effect of a child on the front and back was surprisingly comfortable.
One tip, if you plan on hiking with a lot of weight, don’t let a big trip be the first time you use it. Practice.
So impressed with our Trail Magic!! We are going to be able to level up our adventures so much this year and we are so excited. Super impressed by the owner going out of her way to answer our questions! We contacted them last minute on a way to a trip and she was so incredibly helpful. Such a cool family owned business.
Absolute game-changer. Enables me to walk further and not worry about the return. Super convenient addition. A little practice will aid with adjustment and better transition, but as the saying goes, practice makes better. I do agree not to be in the thick of the walk trying to work it out though. Great quality material, great additional tool as a family with six children.
We have three kids under three and the Trail Magik made it possible for us to get back out on the trails we love. Highly recommend!
This carrier saved our lives! We did a 14 mile backpacking trip with out 19 month old. It was the perfect carrier. Lightweight, and efficient - she slept the better half of the way down. Thank you for making this product!!
Love it already can’t wait to take it on a hike tried it on to make sure my toddle was comfortable and she was ready to go
Trail Magik makes adventuring with two toddlers possible. Whether it’s a solo trip to the donut shop where the oldest swears “ I can walk the whole way” or hiking with friends and their 14 month is melting down in the backpack but is chill in the Trail Magik front carrier. It’s versatile and works with any backpacking system. We will likely purchase another as our youngest gets older to enable both my husband and me to carry as we backpack.
Quality product. Used for my 35+lb 4 year old on a 6 mile hike. It was great when he needed a break!
I love my trail magik! It has been perfect for day hikes and overnight backpacking trips with my 1 year old! Highly recommend!
Really great (and lightweight) piece of equipment for the trail. Easy to use, well made, and a great solution for those much needed toddler breaks!
Overall sturdy and seemingly well made product. We have taken it on a couple backpacking trips with our 25 lb kid. The one criticism I have is it does pull on the shoulders
Trail magik is a great solution for hiking and camping with kids in that late toddler and young kid range. Helps to get a little further away when those little legs can’t make it on their own. Customer service was great and shipping was speedy!
Absolutely love the Trail Magik! The quality of the stitching and materials is awesome. Super easy to use and super lightweight. Makes hiking with toddler so much easier when they are big enough to explore on their own!!!
As an avid backpacker and mama of six, I was excited to try out the Trail Magik. I had read a lot of mixed reviews, but decided to just give it a shot on an upcoming multi-day thru hike. I was unfortunately, sorely disappointed at the performance. After watching the videos and doing some short trial runs around the yard...we set off on our 18 mile backpacking trip. I was carrying my 17 month old (22 lb) baby on front in the Trail Magik, attached properly to the shoulder straps, with my Osprey 65L pack. All in all, I was carrying 45-50lbs, all included. The product is advertised with moms hiking happily along - but with confusing "terms of use"...my 17 month old "hiked" about a half mile of our trip, as we were on steep terrain and ledges that were unsafe for her to be on. I knew I would be relying heavily on carrying her for more than just an "occasional up"...yet the influencers hired, make it seem like that would be just great! WRONG. After about 3 miles, my shoulders were hurting. By mile 5, my husband was worried I might pass out...also...my JAW was hurting due to the pressure on my joints/muscles in my shoulders. We had luckily brought our regular soft-structured carrier as a backup - thank goodness - because we ditched the Trail Magik after that. The next day I only used my soft-structured Tula and both baby and I felt GREAT. Overall, I would NOT recommend this product to serious backpacking parents. It's use seems to be best for maybe a 15-20 minute carry every few hours, at most....which doesn't align with the advertising they do for the product. It's overpriced for what it is, and I seriously regret taking a chance on it. I'm sorry to leave such a negative review, but I am not an influencer, I am a "normal" honest person who was hoping for an "easy" solution...and now I'm just grateful for my soft-structured carrier that I took for granted momentarily when the Trail Magik seemed like a good idea. Very disappointing. If there was a 30 day return period, I'd return it in a flash. I guess I'm just out $90 bucks.
This carrier was not very comfortable carrying my 1.5 year old in. I’d rather carry him with my arms.
